One of the great Stewart Orchids crosses, made with Blc Norman’s Bay x Lc Bonanza, and registered by B.O. Bracey in 1949). This cross was named after one of Armacost and Royston’s growers.

I could write a chapter about how much I love this plant, it vigorous growth habit, its wondrous scent, the perfect shape of its flowers, but honestly, I don’t think it has ever been topped. I have grown many different clones of it through the years and it is always a reliable and impressive fall bloomer.

Many of these were awarded in the 60’s into the 70’s and the Behold cultivar received an HCC/AOS in 1983 and an AM/HOS in 1993. I see remakes of the original cross by various growers, but getting my hands on clones of awarded plants has been tougher, and when these are gone, that will be the end of it.

I have just a handful of these, and they are just about filling 3.5″ pots, which means they are about 2 years from blooming.
