Bulbophyllum bicolor seedlings in 2″ pots

Availability: 5 in stock

Bulbophyllum bicolor – I mostly grow Cattleyas,  but was kind of taken by these little Bulbophyllums, found in nature only in Hong Kong and isolated parts of southeast China and northern Vietnam, which I found to be really striking. The only problem is the I have only 5 of them and will probably sell them before I ever get to see them flower.

Found in Hong Kong and Vietnam on rocks and cliffs along streams at elevations of 100 to 500 meters as a miniature sized, hot growing lithophyte.

Showy striped flowers on fairly small plants.

  • Light: Bright, indirect light; filtered sunlight is best; avoid harsh, direct sun.
  • Temperature: Warm to hot (60-85°F / 16-29°C), avoiding cold drafts.
  • Humidity: High (70-80%) is ideal, achievable with terrariums or humidity trays.
  • Watering: Keep moist but not soggy; allow slight drying between waterings; never let it dry out completely.
  • Air Movement: Essential to prevent fungal issues in humid conditions.
  • Potting Mix: Very loose, fast-draining (fine bark, sphagnum moss, tree fern fiber); shallow pots or mounts work best.
  • Mounting is ideal.

Right now they are growing well in 2″ pots.
