Bc Maikai is a lovely primary hybrid of Brassavola nodosa and Cattleya bowringiana. The result is a fairly short but extremely vigorous plant that flowers with numerous stems of 5 or 6 flowers per stem, around Christmas. This easy-to-grow plant is a clone of the ‘Mayumi’ cultivar, which was awarded an HCC/AOS in 2012 and is classified as a classic Cattleya.
This plant is perfect for growing in a wooden orchid basket and like the other Bc Maikai cultivars, this one also grows into a wonderful specimen.
These are established mature blooming size plants in 5″ pots with 10 or more growths per plant. They should bloom again in December.
