In the spring there is a flush of Cattleyas in flower and then, seemingly for months, not much is happening. Oh sure, there are new growths and roots, which I love to see, don’t get me wrong, but as for flowers, there are but few in my greenhouse until maybe July, when I start to see buds in some of the newly developed sheaths. And so by now, late August, there are flowers and buds all over the place. Here are pictures I present as proof of what I say.
