C. maxima is a Cattleya species that blooms in the late summer and is known for its colorful veined lip. Here, we crossed 2 very nice C. maxima specimens and treated the embryos with Oryzalin. As a result, a good percentage of them should be tetraploids, meaning much improved flowers! Plant photo taken 10/2020. Expect these to flower in 2-3 years and they should have C. maxima coloration similar to the photo.
